We are absolutely thrilled to be announced as the winner in the Google Chrome Educational App Challenge, along with 2 other startups from across India.

The Google Chrome Educational App Challenge is a global competition designed for high-impact, and innovative startups that aim to solve big educational problems. The App challenge began in July this year by inviting startups from across the India to apply. Google received hundreds of applications out of which 5 made it to the finals. The core teams of the shortlisted 5 startups were then invited by Google to present their app to the experts from Read Alliance & Google. Based on the assessors’ evaluation of value proposition, scope of the problem being addressed, technical merits of the app, and team potential, the final 3 winners were announced.

The winners would now present their app to Prof. Sugata Mitra, and receive high level mentorship for building an app further from Google & Read Alliance. The Read Alliance also plans to personally use the winning apps in their centers across the globe.

“We’re incredibly pleased to be declared a winner in this prestigious competition. Google & Read Alliance have a history to promote innovation. So, it's great to be recognized as one of the top developers in India. Moreover, getting our products in the hands of students of Read Alliance Initiative is incredibly satisfying. We're committed to raise the bar by creating breakthrough apps in future as well." – Smile Sikand, co-founder, Zikr Studio.
